Speach @ Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, Nagpur

3rd September 2016 at Laxminarayan Institute of Tchnology, Nagpur as a Guest of Honour for their inaugural function of LIT Model United Nation —

A great morning to honourable Chief Guest Justice Rohee ji (Retd) and other dignitaries on and off the dais…

Today’s subject itself is something that is of great relevance and importance in to days condition world over. And youngsters trying to understand, analyse and interpret the subjects and issues in their own un-contaminated manner is something which needs to be encouraged and thus try and bring these young adults into mainstream administration of the country itself.

Youth is the joy, like the little bird that has broken out of the eggs and is eagerly waiting to spread out its wings in the open sky of freedom and hope. But in the eagerness to spread out, in the eagerness to attain freedom, may be pre-matured freedom many times these small birds out of the eggs end up committing serious mistakes or get misguided.

You must have heard of every other politician talking about the youth, youth our future, they are our investment etc. etc., Why do you think they use all these qualifiers and then dump them. Because someone sometime back thought people get budhi by 18 so we should give them voting powers once they are 18.
Our country today is constituted with a majority of youth (less than 35-40 years) not the youth by certain political party’s definition because some party I know have youth leader aged hardly 50 or 60. India do have the largest percentage youth population as compared to any other country in the world. Everyone knows it is the Youth and youth alone who can bring changes into a vitiated, politically driven and corrupt world order. By the by, India is not as bad as it is painted to be day in day out – even by our own people and other countries not as heavenly and fabulous as it is made out to be. Yes we do agree that because of the utter stupidity of our politicians over few decades they have made the country a poor one and gave this poverty good publicity for what and whose gain they only can say.

So, it is in this environment that everybody starts thinking of the youth the ones who – most probably can bring in drastic and immediate changes. Youth do not have the bad files already embedded in their hard-disk. They are yet to get caught in the web of cast, creed, religion and finally classism. For the same reason they will be best bet to change the world order; at least the prevailing order in India. In an age of chasing dreams, with a large population of youth, with reasonably high percentage of education we should have been the super power in every sphere.   I am sure, that if you guys/gals make up your mind and work in close unity with working class people, you can hold the political power in your hands. And once this power is acquired, to make our country from developing nation to a developed one it should not take much time. This is my thought, and I believe in my thought firmly and squarely.
The youth in you can free this country of discrimination on the grounds of cast, creed, religion, language, gender. It can also look forward for a country void of poverty, unemployment and above all exploitation of man by another man. But let us convert these hopes in reality.

The role of youth is of most importance in today’s time. It has underplayed itself in field of politics. The fresh blood with in depth knowledge the world order is the need of the hour in politics. Politics can no more be played with the limited knowledge of your local phenomenon. Even local issues in a country are affected by another similar one in another country. Take terrorism for example. If the politician/administrator does not have enough knowledge about what is happening where on this subject, whatever action they take will really be of no great use in tackling the issue. I personally is of the considered opinion that today’s youth can recognise and solve the problems better than the old guard. Partially due to their dynamic thinking and close co-ordination even with adversaries, and partially because they do no carry the century old emotional attachments. They are just down to earth practical.

Big problem is the indifferent attitude towards things, situation and politics by the self-serving individuals. The formula of “let the things be “is proving fatal to India’s development. Lack of unity and spirit among politicians and administrators is another major set back. Its time the youth, the students have to realize their power, their role, their duties and their responsibility and stand up for their rights. Now its time that instead of brain drain we should act like magnets and attract world to India.

India can become a developed nation only if everyone contributes to the best of his or her capacity and ability. Youth is fully charged now, and with the full utilization of the talents of the Youth, India can become a complete Nation. Let us all hope and work towards the same.
